Manhattan Beach is a small town with a lot of very nice cars in very small garages. Buying the next one should be the easy part. Usually it isn't, because the first offer you get is built for the store, not for you.

We change that. You tell us the car, budget and timeline. We negotiate with the South Bay dealers and bring back a written out-the-door price. You approve it, sign, and drive. We work the same way for Hermosa Beach and Redondo Beach.

The South Bay dealers, up close

You don't have to go far. Porsche South Bay is in Hawthorne, a few minutes inland. In Torrance, a short drive south, you'll find South Bay BMW, Mercedes-Benz of South Bay, Audi Pacific and South Bay Lexus.

Because these stores serve the whole beach-city corridor, they see a lot of repeat lease customers. That's good for service. It's also why many buyers never shop their renewal. The store sends a "loyalty" quote, it looks reasonable, and it gets signed. We'd rather check it against other dealers of the same brand first, in writing.

What Manhattan Beach drives

Two kinds of cars fill the driveways. There's the family SUV that hauls kids, boards and gear: BMW X5, Mercedes-Benz GLE, Audi Q7, Lexus RX, Volvo XC90. Then there's the fun one, often a Porsche 911 or a Macan. Electric models come up constantly, including the Porsche Macan Electric, the BMW iX and electric Mercedes-Benz models. Small garages and tight streets also make compact SUVs like the BMW X3 an easy choice.

Lease or buy?

A lot of Manhattan Beach driving is short: school drop-off, Manhattan Avenue, a run up Sepulveda. If your car mostly stays in the beach cities, you may be a good fit for a lower-mileage lease, which can lower the payment. If you commute up the 405 to Santa Monica, Century City or the Westside, or over to aerospace jobs in El Segundo and beyond, we'll size the cap so you aren't paying overage at turn-in.

EV leasing deserves a careful look. Battery tech and resale values keep changing, and a lease lets you hand that risk back. If you'd rather own, we'll compare the full cost both ways.

Who's negotiating

John Ricci spent about 30 years inside dealerships, including time as a Finance Director, before switching sides about 20 years ago. He works only for buyers, so his only goal is a better deal for you.

How it works

  1. You tell us the car, budget, and timeline. One short call covers it. Torn between two models? We'll help you think it through.
  2.
  3. We shop dealers and negotiate. We contact the stores, compare real inventory, and get the out-the-door number in writing. You don't take sales calls.
  4.
  5. You approve the deal and drive. You see every line before you sign. Say yes, and we set up the signing, or delivery when the dealer offers it.

Your Manhattan Beach Questions, Answered

The most common questions Manhattan Beach buyers ask us before we get to work.

My South Bay dealer already sent a lease renewal offer. Should I take it?

Not until we've looked. Send it over. We'll check the selling price, money factor and fees, and see whether your current car is worth more than its buyout. Then we ask other dealers of the same brand to compete for the new lease.

Can you find a specific Porsche or BMW spec without me calling around?

Yes. We search dealer inventory and incoming allocation across Southern California, and we ask about factory orders when the build you want isn't on a lot. We'll tell you realistic timing up front.

Will the dealer deliver to my house in Manhattan Beach?

Many South Bay stores will bring the car and paperwork to your home for signing. We'll ask for it in the deal. If the dealer wants you in-store, the visit is short because the numbers are already settled.
