Pasadena buyers do their homework. You've read the reviews, compared trims, maybe built the car online twice. Then you walk into a showroom and the conversation turns to monthly payments, protection packages and "this price is only good today."

Let us take that conversation. You tell us what you want. We negotiate with the dealers across the San Gabriel Valley and bring back a written out-the-door number. You decide.

Where Pasadena buyers shop

Pasadena has its own franchise stores, including Rusnak/Pasadena Porsche, Cadillac Pasadena and Toyota Pasadena. For German luxury, a lot of Pasadena buyers end up a short drive east or south: Mercedes-Benz of Arcadia in Arcadia, BMW of Monrovia in Monrovia, and New Century BMW in Alhambra.

Having two BMW stores within easy reach is useful, if somebody actually makes them compete. Most buyers visit one, get tired, and sign. We get both quotes in writing, plus quotes from stores farther out when it helps.

What Pasadena tends to drive

It's a mixed garage. You'll see plenty of Toyota Grand Highlander, Highlander and Sienna for families, Honda CR-V and Accord hybrids for commuters, Cadillac Escalade and Lyriq on the luxury side, and Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Lexus SUVs everywhere. Pasadena also has a real enthusiast streak. The Porsche 911 crowd here is serious about specs. Researchers and faculty around Caltech and JPL tend to ask sharp questions about hybrids and EVs, which we like.

Lease or buy?

Your commute decides a lot. If you take the 110 into downtown, the 210 toward the foothills, or the 134 over to Burbank and Glendale every day, your miles add up and buying often wins over a long ownership. If you mostly drive around town, or take the Metro A Line for work, a lease with a modest mileage cap can make sense.

If you're the type to keep a reliable Toyota or Lexus for ten years, that points toward buying. For luxury cars that lose value faster, or EVs where resale is hard to predict, leasing can be the safer bet. We'll run both with the real numbers.

Who does the negotiating

John Ricci spent about 30 years inside dealerships, including time as a Finance Director. About 20 years ago he switched sides, and now he works only for buyers. No dealer pays us anything.

How it works

  1. You tell us the car, budget, and timeline. One short call covers it. Torn between two models? We'll help you think it through.
  2.
  3. We shop dealers and negotiate. We contact the stores, compare real inventory, and get the out-the-door number in writing. You don't take sales calls.
  4.
  5. You approve the deal and drive. You see every line before you sign. Say yes, and we set up the signing, or delivery when the dealer offers it.

Your Pasadena Questions, Answered

The most common questions Pasadena buyers ask us before we get to work.

Is it worth driving to Arcadia, Monrovia or Alhambra for a better deal?

Sometimes, and you don't have to do the driving to find out. We get written quotes from the stores that carry your brand across the San Gabriel Valley and beyond, then let them compete. You only go to the winner, if you go anywhere.

I want a specific Porsche build from Rusnak/Pasadena. Can you still help?

Yes. If you have a favorite store, we can negotiate with that store directly and use other dealers' quotes as leverage. We'll also check whether a factory order makes more sense than buying from stock.

I'm planning to keep my next car ten years. Should I still lease?

Probably not. If you'll own it that long, buying usually costs less. We'll focus on the purchase price, the interest rate and keeping unwanted add-ons out of the contract.
