Car Buying Concierge
Car Buying Concierge in Brentwood
Skip the haggling, the waiting, and the mystery fees. We shop Brentwood-area dealers and negotiate your new car or lease, and if our savings don't beat the fee, you pay nothing.
Sunset backs up by four. The Sepulveda Pass is what it is. And a Saturday at a dealership has a way of eating the whole day. If you live in Brentwood, you probably have better uses for that time.
We take the dealer off your plate. You tell us what you want, we come back with a written out-the-door number, and you decide. This one is close to home for us, too. Shea, our partner, lives here in 90049.
Where Brentwood buyers actually shop
For most of the neighborhood, the nearest new-car stores are a quick run down San Vicente or Wilshire to the Santa Monica Boulevard row. That's where you'll find BMW of Santa Monica, Lexus Santa Monica, Toyota Santa Monica and Honda Santa Monica. Porsche Beverly Hills is the other usual stop, and despite the name it's in West Los Angeles, not Beverly Hills.
Close is convenient. It's also leverage, and the leverage belongs to the store. The salesperson knows you don't want to drive to the South Bay or the Valley to compare, so the first number tends to stick. We don't have that problem. We ask several stores for the same car and make them compete in writing, including stores you'd never bother driving to.
What Brentwood tends to drive
North of Sunset you see a lot of midsize and three-row luxury SUVs: BMW X5 and X7, Lexus RX and GX, Mercedes-Benz GLE, Porsche Cayenne. Plenty of households pair that with something practical for school runs and weekend games, like a Toyota Grand Highlander or a Honda Odyssey. We negotiate both the same way. The margin tricks don't change with the badge.
Lease or buy?
Leasing is common here, and it often makes sense. You want current safety tech, you like a new car every three years, and your miles are predictable. The catch is the mileage cap. A daily drive over the pass to the Valley, or down to Century City and back, adds up faster than it feels, and a cheap-looking low-mileage lease can bill you at turn-in. We set the cap to how you really drive.
On a lease, the numbers that matter are the selling price (yes, you negotiate it on a lease too), the money factor and the fees. Dealers like to talk monthly payment because it hides all three. We show you each one.
Buying usually wins if you keep cars past five or six years, drive a lot, or plan to hand the car down to a new driver. We'll run both before you pick.
Who does the negotiating
John Ricci spent about 30 years inside dealerships, including time as a Finance Director. He knows where the margin sits, what the add-ons really cost, and which lines on a lease worksheet can move. About 20 years ago he switched sides. Now he only works for buyers. If you've been looking for an auto broker alternative, this is it: we're paid by you, never by the dealer.
How it works
- You tell us the car, budget, and timeline. One short call covers it. Torn between two models? We'll help you think it through.
- We shop dealers and negotiate. We contact the stores, compare real inventory, and get the out-the-door number in writing. You don't take sales calls.
- You approve the deal and drive. You see every line before you sign. Say yes, and we set up the signing, or delivery when the dealer offers it.
Price and guarantee
- $997 flat for a new-car purchase or lease.
- $497 to add your trade-in.
- Guarantee: if our savings don't beat the fee, you pay nothing.
- Our clients save about $3,200 on average.
No commissions and no dealer money. You're the only one paying us, so you're the only one we work for.
Your Brentwood Questions, Answered
The most common questions Brentwood buyers ask us before we get to work.
Do I have to go to the Santa Monica dealers myself?
Usually not. We handle the negotiating by phone and email. Many stores will bring the paperwork, or the car, to your home or office for signing. Some want a short in-store signing. Either way, the numbers are settled before you show up.
My lease is ending on a Westside BMW or Lexus. Should I just re-lease with the same store?
Not before we look. Your current car may be worth more than the buyout, and that equity is yours, not the store's. Brand loyalty offers usually come from the manufacturer, so they generally follow you to any franchised dealer of that brand. We check the buyout, then shop the new car with more than one store.
Can you help with a hard-to-find build, like a specific Porsche?
Yes. We ask multiple dealers about allocation and incoming cars, and we push back on markups over sticker. We can't promise every limited model, and we'll tell you straight if the wait or the price doesn't make sense.
